LEADING.
As shown in the following picture, hold your catch rope or lead
rope attached to your rope halter in both hands at your waist. Give your horse
enough rope so that his head will be at your elbow.
If he doesn't move with you, hold the rein taut, as in the picture below.
The rope halter will press on the nerve at his poll, just behind his ears. It will soon
become uncomfortable enough that he will move forward again.
Horses like to be led. They feel safe at your elbow...their
"safe spot". In your pasture area, eventually, your horse will follow you even without
a rope or halter. This next picture shows what Magnum and I have acheived with
time and patience. You can accomplish this, too!
