Question: How do I go about putting a picture of my operation
on your site, and what will it cost?
Answer: First, we need to put your business card on-line in the right
category. That will give us a place to link from. Then we'll put a link to a
blank page and fill it with information and pictures of your business history, products,
etc. The size of a page varies; figure it to be the size of a business letter.
As for the cost; the business card on-line is $50 per year. The addition of a page with pictures
and text, will cost $10 per month. That's a total of $120 per year (The business card is
included with the
additional page). You can save by paying
annually or bi-annually.
Question: If I use the extra page ad, how many pictures
can I use?
Answer: An additional page is roughly the size
of a piece of copy paper, 8 1/2 x 11. If you use the space well, 2 pictures with
text will work nicely. Remember, lots of pictures, or large pictures take time to download,
and people do not like to wait. I've found that if you can't get a picture to load in
15-20 seconds, you'll lose the visitor.
Question: Your card says "Big Biz need not apply." What do you
consider a "big biz" ?
Answer: Wal-mart..Home Depot..
Question: Since you don't accept any advertisers outside
of El Dorado or Amador County, can you tell me if the number of visitors to your site will increase in spite of the
corporations moving to the county, and, what are you doing to get more "hits" ?
Answer: First, our "hit" number is the number
of files downloaded (that is, pages, pictures looked at). That number is going up
because we are getting bigger and offering more files.
Visitors, are the number of unique visitors to our site, and that number is going up
because we are getting more visitors.
That is by far the most important number!
We've been advertising in
local publications and are members of the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce.
El Dorado County is so rich
in 'history' and 'things to do' that new tourists are
constantly visiting. Many of these people, as well
as, locals looking for common, everyday needs, are using
the internet to guide them. Our website is continually becoming more well-known on the
"Search Engines" of
the internet. Also, we own & operate the "El Dorado Living-Eclectic Gifts in Diamond
Springs, where few customers get out without
hearing a sales pitch for www.El Dorado Living.com!
We will always tell our customers how many hits & visitors we're
getting and what we are doing to improve these statistcs.
Question: I work in home maintenance and
repair but I don't see a
category for my business. Where would my card go, Hardware / Construction?
Answer: No, we could make you a new category,
'Home Maintenance'
or 'Handyman', or whatever fits.
Question: What's the story on the Horse website that's
obviously part of your business?
Answer: Bottom line, we are horse people! The horse you see in the picture on the right on our home
page is "Louie". We rescued & adopted him from the "United Pegasus Foundation", an organization that rescues and looks for
folks to adopt the babies produced at "Chemical farms" in Canada, as well as, retired
race horses. We want to care for and train these animals, as much as
we can. That's the reason for both these websites. Roundpen Magic.com is a horse
training & care site we conceived
FOR this reason. At this time www.RoundpenMagic.com is getting over 7000 visitors per month, and that number is going up.
We have it linked quite well with our "El Dorado Living.com" site and visitors to both sites seem to enjoy the free training, pictures
and Horse Talk Forum.
Question: What's the policy on Senior Discounts? I just turned 60 and own my business...
car repair over 30 years in the county and not thinking of retiring soon. Will anybody see my business card?
Answer:First, the Senior Discount. By all means! 10%! My wife and I, here at El Dorado Living.com are
both retired and ask that same question often. As to whether anyone will see your business card; Our two sites, El Dorado Living.com
and RoundpenMagic.com are so well linked with each other that the "visitors" count and "hits" count if combined right now,
total for the last 24 hours: 347 Visitors, 1400 Hits!
